A hearty breakfast starts your day at Brook-Corner Holsteins. Owned by the Hoover family, Brook-Corner milks 375 Registered Holsteins with a RHA of 27,000. There you can visit Brook-Corner Atwood Woozy EX-94 and her offspring. The herd is also home to 29 EX and 172 VG cows. A manure separation system is also a part of this operation. From there you will journey to visit 2 farms near the southern border of the state. Due to a fire at Oakleigh Farm, the Brake family’s Registered Holsteins are housed in a newly constructed barn where they are milked, fed, and kept clean by the help of robotics! Sire selections in this homebred herd emphasizes Red & White, polled, and A2A2 genetics. Numerous bulls have been marketed to AI and embryos have sold worldwide. Then you visit near-by Mercer Vu Farm. The Hissong family milks 1,550 Holsteins and they farm 5,000 acres. Cows on this innovative dairy are milked in a double 28 herringbone parlor and bedded with recycled sand. The tour includes breakfast and lunch.
